maybe to take an axis and add a chambered sound hole or something...

i know piezo's give impression of acoustic, but to add a bit of a woody tone.

anyone ever seen anything like this?

Well OLP did it!

I'd imagine if EBMM did it, it would be more like the Taylor T5.
Much classier!

I would be REALLY interested. I love EBMM guitars, but I reckon my next guitar will most likely be an acoustic. I love Martin acoustics, but if EBMM has something...... well, it's not like I have the money right now anyway. You have some time BP. ;)

Well, Foggy, if EB did something like this it would be KICK ASS:D Hopefully, it would be a regular production model not a BFR. My wallet couldn't take it.;)

I'de personally rather have an electric be an acoustic, then an acoustic be an electric. No one expects you to shred on a martin.

Ever seen a video of McLaughlin, DiMeola, DeLucia??? Those guys ripped it up on acoustic guitars! There are a lot of great shredding on acoustic guitars..... not that I am able to do it.

i was thinking more of a semi

as opposed to what i would consider to be an electro acoustic ( looking at the olp)..

so it would be more of a 335 musicman tone..

to be honest i have yet to really try a piezo loaded axis to see if it can approach the territory.. its just i adore the size and feel of the neck.. it would be nice to get a bit more of a - woody- tone.. rather than bright/acoustic tone.. which i believe the piezo do very well.. i am thinking more a clean/bluesy tone..

but thats just my preference..

maybe it would be just a bit of a fatter axis body but essentially if you just chambered a section in the maple ( of like on ASS) and were adding a top anyway it might be an easy experiment/protype thing to try ..

what-do-ya think BP?!! ;)

my artist friend who i would be suggesting this for is coming to coachella next week as it happens!! maybe Beth and her should meet!

axis body shape? maple top and basswood or mahogany chambered body? f - holes? pair of 'buckers? maple neck with rosewood board?

I've been dreamin' of that combination of woods, style, design, etc for the past year or so .... so much that I've looked at other companies and almost bought a 336 ..... but would much prefer to buy another Ball :)

I have been wanting something like this for a long time only would love a Mahogany back with a carved Koa top and a Rosewood neck and board. Either chambered or with f-hole(s) and Humbuckers

i think mm90's would keep it blues, humbuckers might kill it a bit..

i just think f holes could add something.. to a limited series of course.

called the 'empty axis' or the 'axis super sport cc' !

i need to work on the names!!!! lol!

anyways could be a development..as i say have yet to spend some serious time trying out how much of the semi 335 tones could be pulled from a piezo loaded ASS.

thanks for even entertaining the idea.
