Just turned 37 in October.

Been playing in the same band for ten years with weekly fairly good paying gigs.

I work for a US financial giant but with only one salary and three young kids, GAS is only allowed on rare occasions - mainly out of necessity.

I'm 45 and I own three company's. I don't play good enough to deserve the gear I buy. Most of you younger players can out play me I'm sure. I just like buying gear. Don't swet the money thing. Every one has been in your shoes. Some day you will be able to buy what you want. For now play your ass off, and learn what you can. Money can't buy experiance. If it could I would buy some. I don't care how much money you make there is always something you want, but you can't afford it. As long as you are happy and enjoy life that is all that matters.

So did I two weeks ago. I started bass playing for almost 8 years. Is I was a student i was doing lots of jobs to get some money, and i was playing crappy instruments and amps.
Since 4 years i have a good job ; i first bought a bass amp and i sparred money to get a SR (but turned to a Bongo HH because of the pu's and the comfort).

49 and staring 50 right down the throat. I am the Assistant Body Shop Manager for an Acura dealership. My income has been worse this year than it has in a long time, but I've bought more basses this year than ever. Too much slack time at work has me spending too much time on the internet.
