Everything about Axis and Axis Super Sport Guitars

Here's my Sport MM90; it turns 24 in about a month!

Something about this one that's just hard to describe how good it is. The simple body shape with no binding, comfy contours, great sounding pickups, and a great color.

EDIT: old pic; I did replace the switch tip with a cream one to match the pickups. :p

I just got a grap on an 1999 Axis MM90. Guitar sounds and plays great and so I am trying to understand what it actually is. Serial number lookup states January 26th, 1999. Name Axis special trem. Serial number is G05150 (yes! Just like the Van Halen album :))
On the headstock it is named Axis (no Sport, no Supersport) but it is equipped with the vintage tremolo and not with the Floyd Rose. Message from Music Man indicates that it MIGHT be a special order for a musician or an employee, thus the name Axis Special Trem.

Any ideas what I might have here?

Aaahhh, did you snag that one from Kleinanzeigen!
Congratulations! How does it play?

I drooled a lot over the pics always hoping, the seller would lower the price a bit.
And I noticed the serial 5150 !!!
