Hey guys. I have another quick question about the EVH Axis guitar. What are the back profile measurements, in inches, at the first fret and at the 12th fret?

thanks

There is no such instrument as the "EVH Axis guitar"........

The EVH was renamed Axis after Mr Van Halen and Mr Ball parted ways...

Mike-o,

Your question might not get answered. I'd think the back profile, or any measurement on the Axis, is EB's intellectual property.

Thats just a silly question....and one that reeks of ignorance (which was exactly my point earlier)

Let's see.....do you hate south america?

I'm not prepared to discuss Politics on a guitar forum or anywhere else for that matter as it doens't interest me and I don't quite know why you felt you had to motion that particular question. Maybe its because you wrongly think that everyone in Northern ireland "hates" everyone in Southern Ireland?

(Please do some research on Irish/British History before asking a question like that again)

Ah.....just realised you are from the beautiful country of Scotland! Lived there for 6 years! In Glasgow! Yes you are probably right......we would be having a good laugh at the English maybe? (But definately not southern Ireland!)

Especially their footie team! I believe there were flash floods throughout scotland whenever they lost to Spain in the world cup as everyone was pishing themselves laughing!

Knox, You come across as an arogant person where nobody can say anything unless a lawyer is present to explain everything in detail. I had this same experience w/ you on the Tristan thread. I guess we come from two different backgrounds that don't understand each other. I also apologize for the Irish quip I threw in there---didn't mean to get into politics----it was a childish attempt to "choke your chain."

The original poster's title was "EVH Axis question - back profiles"? By writing it this way maybe he wants details on more than one profile or more specifically wants to compare the EVH and Axis profiles. What's so hard to see about that? Just like Smellybum stated you sound angry from your reply.

In your opinion maybe......not sure what I did to upset you. Maybe don't take every post you read on here so personally? I clealry can't make a simple clarification response to a post wihtout being hung drawn and quarter poundered.

Ho hum.....

With regard the original post I was just clarifying......nothing wrong with that as Peter seconded!

Me and Smeelybum go waaayyyy back! We fought the English in many a battle against Long shanks......he he and Ali helped too!

And why would your comment about southern Ireland possibly "choke my chain?" My mother is from the republic (as its generally known in the western world) and my father is from the North.......guess that makes me BrIrish then.........cool

Give the guy his anwer then intead of attacking me for no reason and lets all move on with this thread!

Now if he's asking about the difference in feel between the EVH and the Axis, we might be able to chime in. But, his original post sounded more like he was asking for the dimensions or radius at different points of the neck.

The Axis neck feels slightly thicker, but it's really subtle. I have a P3av3y W0lf@an@, and the neck on that actually feels pretty close to the EBMM EVH and Axis necks.

They are similar at the nut, but the Axis is 1/32" wider at the bottom which was one of the changes after the switch. I don't believe any of the asymetrical profile was altered, but the Axis is a touch wider and therfore may seem thicker as well if its following the same contour.

Now we're getting somewhere! I haven't a clue as I don't have an EVH.......The axis has a tummy cut if thats any help. My High E string still slips off the top of the neck. I thought this was supposed to have been rectified fromthe EVH?
