Help! EVH bridge p/up

Hey all (first post)

I've got an original EVH EBMN (purple) that I've owned since new, and which has been my #1 gigging/recording guitar....it's been a real workhorse. Recently the bridge pickup started sounding weird, like an out of phase single coil, thin & trebly. I opened her up to measure the resistance across the p/ups, the neck measured around 14.8k, whilst the bridge measured 0k. Tapping both coils on the bridge and they both work...strange!
I'd really like to know how to get this p/up back to working order. Does anyone know if EBMM could replace/repair it? (Understanding that they'd have to charge a fee). Likewise are there any good p/up repairers out there that could be trusted to get this p/up sounding like it should again??
Any help would be VERY appreciated.

If you contact EBMM Customer Service they will probably sell you a replacement, though you will have to give the old one back.

They may be similar, but I believe that the Axis/EVH pickups are proprietary to EBMM.

Definitely not the same. In terms of pure tone, the EBMM EVH/Axis custom Dimarzios have a better treble response than the Air Norton/Tone Zone. I have an Air Norton/True Velvet/Tone Zone combo in an Ibanez RG, and it's just lacking the added high end clarity inherent in my Axis Super Sport's pickups.

Here she is sans pickup. The cavity really shows how much the top has faded over the years. Although the lighting in my studio makes it look pinker than it does in person under regular lighting.

I've got the same guitar - always keep in case to protect from fade, but the ones i've seen ( including yours ) actually look really interesting and even cooler sometimes if that's possible

Yeah the fading has been very gradual over time, it's not until I see old photos that I realize just how much lighter it is compared to when it was new.
But guitars are meant to be played, and this one's been played a lot over the years!
