Just crept over from the thick stringed side to ask this question:p!

Just finished re-watching the Van Halen DVD 'Right Here, Right Now - Live' and obviously they (Eddie & Mikey) were proud EB endorsers at the time.
During 'Spanked' Eddie whips out this double neck EVH in a trans purple quilt.
My jaw just hit the floor at this thing of beauty.

I've tried google but could not come up with any information on this guitar.
Can anyone from here, maybe even those who worked on the beast enlighten me with tech info or some provenance?
Ta muchly!

the upper guitar is a baritone. The bottom guitar is a standard EVH/Axis.

He did a couple of songs on the Carnal Knowledge album with six string basses. EBMM made him a doubleneck so he could play these songs live.

^^^

I have seen one of those at Guitar Center. They are really awkward to play if you don't have a strap.

It looks like the headstock on the 12 string is 7+5 rather than 8+4. That screws up the 2:1 ratio. :p

you are right, the ratio isn´t 2:1, but i think it looks more natural as on the original ones.

Yeah, the original 12 string head looks rather stretched out. The first time I saw Petrucci play his double neck at the Warfield, I thought I was having mushroom flashbacks.

He may have sold it to someone. I have a feeling if this isn't an original, it's a replica. I know of at least one person that's had one made by GMW.

I would agree that its not an EBMM, particularly in the way it is cutely worded as a custom made guitar and the only references to evh strings and a music man strap. The 4 + 2 stocks may be an issue since it is being sold publicly though.

looks like a good replica though... i would love to see a close up of the head stocks.

That would honestly probably be the only evh i'd be interested in since i don't care for the body shape or the player. it's such a novelty being as rare as it is and owning a 7 string don't really see the point of a baritone and a 6 string. however...
