I've seen that guitar in person at a Baby Animals gig years ago. Ed gave the band a guitar each (except the drummer) on the European tour. Still think EBMM is making better guitars now and this is a tad overpriced.
A player will have a logic when he buys a guitar (this guitar can or cannot be use for gigging).
A collector does not have the same vision : if this item is essential in his collection, he will buy it.
If I had the money I would buy it for an investment. This guitar will only increase in value over time such as rare Les Paul do. We all no how many fans VH has, in 30 years imagine

Beware because now players like EVH use a lot of guitars. How many EBMM, Peavey guitars were used by EVH ???
The players from the 60s or 70s were using just a few guitars, so now they are iconic. SRV, Rory Gallagher played the same guitar during all their life. If you can buy one of Rory's workhorse, that a good investment because of its rarity.
1. Its a great guitar...always was and still is.
2. Eddie handed it to her but I gave it to all the baby animals.
3. Its a cool guitar and rare.
4. there is a market for everything but I think that you can buy a lot of stuff for 30K
I believe this guitar was used in all the Right Here, Right Now promo materials. Very cool piece for the EVH fan. I'd rather have this than those Charvels he was doing...
Actually the ebay ad says the guitar is being sold by Nuno Bettencourt by a place that is thinning out his herd and the guitar was given to his Wife by Eddie. It is a Gold top to boot, which only had about 26 made. If I was Nuno I would definitely of held onto this ax being it was a gift to his wife. The add also states he gigged it.
There is a Gold top on Gbase that is rather in shabby condition that a guy is asking $,9,000 for, been up for months.
For this price Nuno better send his wife with it.lol That is off the charts. But like someone mentioned earlier there are going to be guitars that are going to be the next wave of vintage axes. I would say from the time Vanhalen hit and on. As everyone was playing super Strats and companies like EBMM, Kramer, Charvel ,Jackson, Ibanez, Dean and a host of others ruled the roost for a long time. I dont ever think we will see the insane prices from the first vintage market but a lot of these guitars are going to increase pretty nicely. Especially the ones played by the most dominant player of his era. Maybe this is a sign of things to come.-Now I'm interested to see if it sells.lol
