Is this a legit EVH Music Man? The only thing throwing me off is the headstock tuners! All the tuners i have seen have a S for Schaller where this has Schaller spelled out on the tuner! anyone know anything about this? thanks

It it's not legit it's got to be the absolute best forgery of a guitar I've ever seen. Try running the serial number (87851 from the pictures) into the sticky thread and see if it comes back as that finish. I doubt that they'd be able to fake it to that degree.

But everything to me looks like the real McCoy.

Hey bmac:

Looks legit to me. Just checked against one of mine with a close serial number.

I think he means it's been played quite a bit from the looks of it - in a good way.

The neck pup is reversed. It has no fretware at all and the pics so a lot of finger prints. Its a very nice looking and playing guitar. I'm new to these as if I buy this one it will be my first. Is it worth 1700 with original case?

The guitar is really only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Considering that these are limited in number, and are associated with an extremely influencial guitar player, I would say that it probably will only ever increase in value.

To me, it's worth $1700, but I'm a pretty big VH fan. You're in the price range of a brand new EBMM, so some people would probably say no, and to go get a Luke or an Axis new for about the same money.

Compared to other EBMM/EVH guitars, it's priced about right for it's condition.

I would close by saying, if it makes you happy at $1700, buy it.
