I would say it's still worth it. Having the original pickups in it would have been better for resale value, but I'm assuming you got this guitar to play, and not as an investment. My EVH has had the bridge pickup replaced with an Axis pickup, because the original stopped working. Still sounds the same to my ear.

The guitar you have has some signs of play wear, but still looks to be in great condition overall.

Even with the Wolfgang pickup in it, I think you still got your moneys worth on this one. If it would have had the original pickups, the guy probably would have been asking $2300 to $2500 for it.

I don't know if you guys have already called about the serial number but it looks legit. The system says it's a trans red completed on August 18th, 1995.

Mine have Schaller spelled out as well, I'm guessing they (Schaller) changed them. My evh was made in August 1995 which I think is pretty close to the end of the production run for the evh model.

Ok so I sent a picture of my tuning pegs to Schaller customer service and they confined that the tuning pegs with "Schaller" spelled out were indeed Schaller. :)

Hey, u talkin to me? NY
Congrats on an awesome EVH and a great deal! Here's a pic of my early 1996 Axis' headstock. I have the same Schaller tuners as you so don't worry, everything is good!
