Hey there,

In all the Axis that I've had, the pickup "vent holes" have only had two holes in each of the pole pieces, high E and low E ends. This picture attached seems to indicate four at the high E end for the neck pick up. Could this still be an EVH DiMarzio?

Thanks,

To my knowledge, the pickups in the Axis are the same design as the EVH. EBMM apparently owned the proprietary patent for that pickup and that guitar.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But...I believe they're the same pickups.

Thanks Paul. That I understood.

However the ones in the picture I posted seem to have four vent holes in the neck pickup at the high E end. Is this still a DiMarzio EVH/Axis pickup?

Ah...I get it now. You're wondering if the pup has been *changed.* I misunderstood. My apologies.

On both the EVH and Axis guitars I have seen, both have bobbins with two tooling/index holes on them. Not sure why that bobbin has extra.

Both of my Axis's's have two, but they are decades removed from the original EVH.
