Ernie, because it purple and because of the condition. The thing looks and sounds like it is brand new. Stored in the case, and if it is an early model, that can only help his sale.

I think it's way out there as far as the price goes, but I wonder what he has the reserve set at??? Looks like something to watch, and only watch. I guess if you have money to burn and have a yurning for an EVH, then that would be the one I might consider.

Can anyone tell me why there is such a bidding war going on and why someone would bid over 4 grand? I actually e-mailed the high bidder to ask why he's bidding so much.

I'm perplexed

He says it a first year production model, don't know if it makes it any more special, maybe one of the mods can check it out and let us know, heres the serial no. 80467.

But l didn't know EVH models were going for that much, l'd rather buy 2 Axis' or 2 petrucci's.

Scott.

To quote dude, "And who knows, maybe someday you can resell it and buy a really nice sports car or perhaps even put one of your kids thru college."

PUHLEAZE! Come on bro! Who in the heck are you kidding? I have to sit and wonder who would pay $4k for that? I have seen them go for 2 to 2 1/2k, but dude is smoking some nuclear crack! He doesn't have to sell it?!?! Then, why is it there? Get a life.

Geez, hopefully, my four JP's will make me a millionaire and I will sail around the world on my personal yacht while my kid is in college. Think of all the sportcars I could have! One for every day of the week....dude, you're an idiot!

Ernie...if the JP guitar thing makes me a million, you will be the next Bill Gates my brother! Billionaire!

I still wanna know why there is such a bidding war going on. Mint EVH's go for around 2 grand, new old stock EVH's go for around 2,500. Many EVH's come up for action on ebay. I wanna know why there is so much interest in this axe so early on, dammit!!!

Maybe I should bid just so I can have my name on it, then I'll feel cool!!!

By the way, his reserve price is completely rediculous. I have a feeling we could buy your collection of JPs with his reserve price.

My first reaction to such an outrageous inflation over market value is to say "shill bidding", but there may actually be a couple people out there with money to burn who are willing to pay that much for such an obviously a really nice EVH... But it's way, WAY above market value, so I don't think they'll make any money on the deal...

You guys think $4000 is expensive??? It is but just remember we have to pay £1900 BGBP for an Axis with a premium top plus matching headstock over here in UK! A $2000 MINT Axis in the states is a bargain to us Europeans..........

All the dudes bidding 3000 and up are located in the US, or so their profiles state. I see your point, but these guys are not from GB or Europe.

Hey Ernie,

Seems more and more members are listing their axes in signature.

You want me to check if EB has the webspace for yours?

I really wanted to have a cool JP collection avavtar. I checked with EB, they don't the bandwidth and even if they did, I'm not allowed to do it by law They told me if I tried to use a pic of my EBMM's as an avatar, when ever you guys logged on to this forum, my guitar headstocks would smash thru your screens and poke every one's eyes out.
Then you'd all be very, very, very mad at me. :(

I understand what all of you are saying, but it still doesn't answer my question. There is sooooooooo much interest in this particular EVH. It's nothing really special, it wasn't played or owed by Eddie, there isn't a treasure map hidden in the control cavity. What am I missing? Can someone give me an exact reason?
