Listen i own 2 EVH's and 1 first year axis and all three have slightly different bridge pup heights??? I bought these all used so they may have been changed?
I need to know on YOUR EVH what is the actual distance of the bridge pup from the strings measuring from the top of the stud pole of the dimarzio to the bottom of the string unfretted?
please use 32nd's if possible
thanks in advance for anyone that can help me out with this:)

AFAIK, they don't have adjustable heights (the Axis doesn't), so I'm not sure if that's going to help you. Maybe the PUs have been shimmed, or the height setting on the bridges vary causing a height different.

For actual data, I'd contact customer service and see if they can help you out.

I know that the neck p-up is a bit further away from the strings, but i hve never measured the distance myself . I shall give them a measure.

Threeminutesboy, can you mesure the distance between the low E string to the pole piece of the Bridge pickup for me please (in mm) ?
Oh, and did you put shims under the pickup or does it's very close to the strings from factory ?
On my Axis SS the bridge pickup is very far from the string, (4 mm) and as i don't want to put shims under the pickups, i can't reduce this distance, i have tried to lowering the action to make the strings closer to the pickups, but with a lower action i've got too much strings rattles, which make the guitar toneless!

Antoine, the distance is 2 mm no shims under the pickup.

I have noticed that on the EVH, the neck is lower (in the pocket neck) than on the ASS. So either previous owner made some changes on the EVH neck (which I doubt) or this is part of the difference between EVH and ASS.

I found the sound on the ASS being more balanced between neck and bridge pickups, while on the EVH, switching from neck to bridge is like switching on a boost pedal :D

I love both anyway and it's like children, you can tell wich one you love most :p
