I'm waiting for my new toggle switch. But like i explained in another thread, there was a 5 positions toggle switch and the wiring was a little strange.....
Anyone could help me about wiring the pickups? Which ones are taped together?
Maybe a pic would be the best. Thanks. :)

Guess I missed the other thread ... what kind of switch is it?

I'd love to find a 5-position toggle switch for another project but have never seen one.

Ah, thanks. So it's a toggle switch that literally has 5 positions?

I looked at EMG's site and online and couldn't find anything like that. All I see are regular 3-way toggles and 5-way blade stlye switches.

Yes, it has 5 positions. When there are 3 positions, you can feel FRANKLY 3 positions. With this one, you feel 5 positions. And i don't really know where it comes from! Maybe some special electronics stores.....

Really neat- I'll keep looking now that I know someone actually makes one! Thanks.

As for the wiring- most likely the former owner wired it up with all of the coils connected to the switch. You'll want to have it look something like this:
http://www.seymourduncan.com/website/support/schematics/2hb_1vol_3way.html

However you'll need to be sure of the pickups before you change the wiring- each manufacturer seems to have their own colour scheme. Here's a good summary by brand:
http://guitarelectronics.zoovy.com/category/wiringresources.11pickupcolorcodes/

If they're Dimarzios then green is ground, red is hot (should be connected to the pickup switch) and the black & white should be soldered together to connect the coils (unlike the Duncan diagram).

Good luck!

Here, use this...enjoy.

I wasn't going for artistic, I was going for usability, but this is what I put together after pulling apart my EVH.

This should be all that you need to get you squared up. :)
