experience with orange amps?

I'm thinking about getting an orange crush 35B. It's 35W, 12" speaker, it's just so that i have a nice amp that sounds decent rather than my behringer until i can get a job, does anyone have any experience with this amp or orange in general? If not that i'm thinking maybe an ashdown EB 115 180 or five fifteen.

Orange amps are amazing. I've never played one personally, but I went with a friend of mine to try one out for guitar, and it's one of my favorite guitar amps. I don't know about for bass, but I know the company is good and quality is high.

As for Ashdown, they're great, too. I used to use a MAG 300 before I got my LMK II, and it never let me down. Great tone, too.

I have an Ashdown Electric Blue 180 15" and it sounds decent but it weighs a ton (70 lbs) which for a "portable" combo is very heavy.

I hardly ever use it now that I have an LMII and a Schroeder cabinet (combined weight of less than 50 lbs and 3x the output power.

Ashdowns do sound good though.

I wouldn't go Orange unless you're getting the real thing - Orange AD200B

The cheaper Orange amps are the equivalent to buying a Gretsch hollowbody electric guitar NEW for $499 at Guitar Center. They just ain't even close to the real thing.

Avoid the gimmicky copies and buy a decent used amp. If you're patient, you can find a great deal on a used amp such as an Ampeg head or a MarkBass head.

The 200B........

A very rich buddy of mine has the AD200B. With 410 cab and a 1x18 under it.

It is a wall of sound! You would never, ever, ever, ever, ever want anything else if you got that rig.

I drool over it. The cool thing it he lets me borrow it whenever I want.. But I will tell you, lugging it around is rough.. It is heavy!!!

But he pays some roadies from his car business to do it...
