I recently bought a used Stingray 5 which arrived with an incredibly low action. Having set it up it to the factory specs shown in the EBMM FAQ I'm very happy with it except for one thing; I'm getting buzzing behind the fretted B on the E string if I also play a D on the G string, due to sympathetic resonance of the E string between the fingered note and the nut.
I've double checked the neck relief, action and frets and am 99% certain it's being caused by the nut slot being cut too low.
I've found a few common specs online for setting bass nut slot height, and my measurements are consistently lower, so I'm going to get hold of a new nut. But I'm interested in what specification is used by EBMM themselves when initially filing the slots. Does anybody know?
