I was in Singapore a few days ago, and spotted this bass in a shop.
It reads "TGM guitars" on the headstock, if I'm not mistaken, they are made either in Korea or Indonesia. They have other copies of Steve Vai's, Joe Satriani's, Zakk Wylde's, John Petrucci's (Ibanez), Paul Gilbert's etc.

Can any action be taken against them?

Sorry for the blurry pictures, but

By current standards, a knock-off (look-a-like) isn't the biggest offender. At least they didn't counterfeit the logo, etc. in an attemp to rip off the brand itself. There is literally NOTHING of value that is not being counterfeited. Often if what appears to be state sponsored facilities. Buyer beware. At least these buyers know what they are getting.

I had it figured to be a refinished OLP, but hey, it's a big world with a ton of manufacturers...legal and otherwise.

You get what you pay for in any country.

Not sure about the retail price, I'll double check it when I drop by there a few days later.

Your not seriously thinking of buying one?
It may look like a MM but the sound and feel will be totally different. Guitars made in singapore arent exactly known for their quality.

Noone said anything about getting one. I'll check the price just to see how cheap that these ripoffs are going.

They are not made in Singapore. It's either made in Indonesia or Korea. Not too sure.
