I went to lunch with a friend from HS back in July (we're both 44).
He wore a LED ZEP shirt!

DON
" Hey Keith, remember when we were all sitting in your bedroom in your parents house taking bong hits listening to you play led zep riffs with the strobe light blinking?"

KEITH
"Yep"

Some of these aren't technically hair bands but just some stand out leads...

Warren DiMartini - Lay It Down
Jake E. Lee - The Ultimate Sin
Chris Degarmo - Everything off of Operation Mindcrime
Steve Vai - Shy Boy
Reb Beach (I know, I know) - Seventeen

They're all great...here's a funny 80's hair metal story. Whilst living in TO, with dreams of making it big (more like nightmares) with my long hair and my 30" waist (I think one of my thighs is now 30"'s :D ) I wanted to look cool so I purchased a pair of these cowboy boots, paid a hell of a lot of cash for them, but hey it was cool right...well unfortunately I purchased them at the point where they changed boot styles going from the high heel (the ones I had) to the low heel...man I felt foolish

Best hair metal solo:

Matthias Jabs (Scorpions) - "Rock You Like a Hurricane"

I don't have any 80's clothes left over, but they wouldn't fit anyway!

ABSOLUTELY. That solo is so perfect for that song. Truly written to make an impact for the song, not just be a meedly, meedly moment. I had to play that not too long ago and was struck how tough it is to get it right. Lots of tasty bending there. :)

Reb Beach grew up very close to my local EBMM dealer, Pianos-n-Stuff.
My best friend went to high school (Fox Chapel) with Reb. I believe REB = Richard Earl Beach... and if that's true, the "B" in Reb is redundant. Kinda like saying MIDI interface, when the last I in MIDI stands for "interface".

Paul Gilbert also grew up in this neck of the woods.. a little further away in Greensburg, PA (about a 30 minute drive).

So, western Pennsylvania has spawned a few shredders!
