Reb Beach grew up very close to my local EBMM dealer, Pianos-n-Stuff.
My best friend went to high school (Fox Chapel) with Reb. I believe REB = Richard Earl Beach... and if that's true, the "B" in Reb is redundant. Kinda like saying MIDI interface, when the last I in MIDI stands for "interface".

Paul Gilbert also grew up in this neck of the woods.. a little further away in Greensburg, PA (about a 30 minute drive).

So, western Pennsylvania has spawned a few shredders!

paul gilbert !!!!! what a MONSTER !!!!!!!!!

Reb Beach - Seventeen

I have 2 tour shirts:

Rush "Signals" tour 1983?

Iron Maiden - "Somewhere on Tour" 1987

I also have an SRV bandana my wife bought me at one of his shows.

I think another fun post would be - how did you dress back in the 1980's -

For me it was skin tight jeans w/ bandana's around the ankles, leather jacket - no shirt - cowboy boots - black eyeliner. My hair was just past my waistband and all the same length.

Now - Dockers, Golf shirts, boat shoes and short hair. Still the same headbanger inside, though.

Tommy,

As a teenager, for many years I ran sound with one of my best friends who lived across the street from me. His name is Mike Palone, and he's probably one of the best guitar players I've ever seen, hands down.

Anyway, Mike ran sound for a band called "Giant" for a New Year's Eve gig around 1983 I think. The guitarist for that band was one Paul Gilbert who later moved on to Racer X, Mr. Big, etc. Funny story about the gig.. Mike had a tape (off the board) of that gig way back when, and Paul had to play a long solo at one point 'cause their drummer had diarrhea and had to leave the stage in a hurry! hahaha. I wonder if that tape still exists...

Noooooo! Not autograph!

I place the blame for metal's demise squarely on the shoulders of:

Poison, Warrant, Autograph, and Danger Danger.

Yo edensdad. I was at the "somewhere in time tour" in Edinbrugh. Cool. Tight trousers, but cool.

I would wear streahed jeans, a cut up Gary Moore t- shirt and a pair of flying boots, oh and a fake leather bike jacket.

RAWK ONNNNNNNNN.

What about Dio--Rainbow in the dark!

aww, c'mon dude

Warrant was a good band...do I like all of their songs? no...were teh guitar players technical wizards the likes of which the world will never see again? no

BUT, Janey Lane had a GREAT voice and the leads in the songs were always well thought out and creative....I'll take that over yngwie burning harmonic minor any day of the week...

wanna know the TRUE downfall of meta? Bon Jovi =)
