Here we go again, stuck at home, afraid to leave even for a minute because of waiting for another bass. I’m taking the phone off the hook (how do you do that with cordless phones?), I don’t want my kids calling me from school with a broken arm or anything.

Luckily FedEx runs earlier than UPS in my neighborhood, and I’m well stocked with food, beer and porn. This will be my first Sterling, but I bet it won’t be my last! :D

When my natural SR4 arrived a few weeks ago, I missed the delivery 'cause I was at work. I ended up driving to the UPS center way out by the airport & picking it up myself. It was worth the drive.

I know how you feel waiting for it to arrive!!

Most cordless phones have an on/off for the ringer, you'll never know they called. Just turn them back on after you get the bass

For future shipments, if you're getting a shipment by FedEx Express (not Ground), you can have it held at the station for pickup if you don't want to do the waiting game. That way, it's available as soon as they open and there is one less handling of your goods. It can also make it a little easier to sneak things in the house if that ever becomes an issue (not that I've ever done anything dastardly like that....)

Since FedEx bought Kinko's, many Kinko's also provide 'hold at station' service. The easiest way to see if one near you will hold for pickup is to call them or use the fedex.com site to look up a location near your zip code. Check the boxes for 'FedEx staffed' and 'Hold at location'. It will show all the places near you that will hold a package. Again, this is for Express shipments only.

You would have to check for Ground shipments.

This public service message brought to you by your resident FedEx engineer.

Good luck on your wait, we understand if you get delayed between receiving it and updating the thread.

I still remember when I was a kid waiting for the brown truck to bring my BMX parts I ordered. Sitting and staring out the window.....
