I have fallen in love with my Silhouette all over again!!! I have had it since about August, but never really liked the stock configuration. It DID sound wonderful, dont get me wrong. It had a nice distinct sound w/ the Virtual PAFs, but it sounded way too vintage for me. So I decided I needed to replace the PUPs for something hotter, but versatile, and I came up with the DiMarzio BREED pups. I got the pair for neck and bridge, and left the single coil in the middle for that vintage stratty tone for when I sepcifically need that. So that was the first project of putting in the PUPs by myself, since it costs WAY too much money at the techs. I had my brother help me out w/ the soldering and it worked out just fine. After that the guitar definatly sounded more to my liking, but definatly STILL lacked something that I couldnt point my finger at right away. I figured I should probably switch the Pots at that point. It also bothered me that the stock pots had the split shaft and I put the black dome knobs on there and it felt all crooked and flimsy no matter how hard I tried to adjust it. So I bought the 500K pots for volume and tone today, and did all the work myself. It took me maybe half an hour of replacing the pots and putting the strings back on. At first I was paranoid that it might not work that I might have screwed up something, but I am like that naturally. When I plugged it in and rolled up the volume and tone I was freakin stunned at the sound and tone. That was exactly what I was looking for and wanted from this guitar!!!
Absolutely LOVE it even MORE now that I have finished putting everything in that my ears desired. Now I dont have to worry about those crooked knobs and thinking I should replace it, or that I should turn up the gain on the amp. Everything is nice and peachy now
. Just wanted to share with you fellas, and now I dont think I am actually going to order that CBP LUKE that I've been wanting for a little while, because this baby can freakin do it ALLLLL!!!!!!!!!11
