I've found a second hand Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and played a little bit with it. I haven't had much time because they were closing the store  but i found the clean soud really cool and it has far more gain than I expected.

Any of you guys have played with this one? Share your experiences with the rest (and with me BTW) :D

I recently sold my Fender HRD. It was modded a bit and I thought sounded much better as a result. I have 2 Ruby's and JJ for 12AX7's and JAN Phillips NOS 6L6's for the power tubes. Lastly, the stock speaker was swapped for a Celestion Vintage 30. If you end up getting one play around with swapping the preamp tubes and change the speaker out... if you think it sounded great stock... wait till you hear it with a better speaker!

my mate who plays in a country band uses one - it's great but didn't seem to like my Pod XT when I plugged that into it.

The guitarist who played my local pub last Thursday used one - lots of Tom Petty/Dylan/Steve Earle type stuff - sounded great.

During the break another mate plugged his Strat into it (he plays in a Hendrix tribute band), went through some kinda effect pedal and sh!t he sounded just like Hendrix. It seems like quite a versatile combo.

if it's being sold at the right price - go for it.
