The whole Fender line is so confusing it discourages me. Plus they don't have too many models for modern rock/metal. I wouldn't mind a custom shop Tele though, but way too expensive.

And to think when Leo ran fender, every instrument was of custom shop quality.

I think I'm going to close this before it turns into something else entirely. Just keep in mind as we go on that many of us (including the boss) have Fenders and understand, appreciate and respect what Fender has done.

Actually Ray is spot on...the instruments made in Leo's era were made wtih jigs and there was very little precision (no pun intended) THe pickups were would by hand and some ladies put more wire on than others...modern manufacturing has helped make all of us better and more consistent builders.....
