Hey Everyone,
So I finally managed to get my hands on a Stingray5 and I love it love it love it!!
I was wondering if anybody may be able to help me answer a couple of questions though.
Is the serial number the five digit code stamped into the Bridge? If so, mine is 59351, anyone have any ideas what the DOB of this Bass is? I had a look at the Music Man Serial Number Database shown in this forum and I think this dates it to between April and June '97, but I was hoping someone could be a little more precise? It would be cool to add my new found bundle of joy to this list as well!
Secondly, any ideas where I can find wiring diagrams for a Stingray5? Again, I had a look on the Ernie Ball site and found the Diagram of the general layout, but was hoping for something a little more specific?
Lastly, a question.
I love the look of a Stingray5 with no scratchplate. I don't know hat itis about it, I just think they look superb with no clothes! So I'm thinking of maybe doing myself a small transparent perspex or Polycarbonate Scratchplate, just to cover the electronics/knobs/etc.
Myquestion is, if this scratchplate were completely clear, without the foil on the underside as it is on the original, would this cause huge buzzing problems? Or any other problems?
Hopefully someone can help!
Many thanks in anticipation,
Nick
