I thought I'd share a story here. I had been looking for a SR4 sunburst for a while, but didn't want to buy a new one - only because I can't afford it right now. Anyway, found this one at GC Fountain Valley via their online used gear finder. I walked in there yesterday and it was not hanging up - the guy had to go find it in back. Here's the cool details - only $699, 8.5 lbs and only two dings - condition is about a 9 out of 10. It had some noisy pots and needed a good cleaning. Back at the house, I took it apart except for the neck, did a major cleaning, shot some cleaner into the pots, bought and installed some Hybrid Slinkys and she's almost like new as you'll see from the photos - the album should be viewable.

Now the long story hopefully not too long. I had bought a sunburst Stingray back in 1984 and only had it a few months because it was stolen out of my Toyota truck - my fault, as I had left it in plain site in the back and the window on the camper shell was not tinted. Those windows on shells are easy to pry open. I bought a used Stingray natural / maple to replace it, but ended up selling that one at some point. I have since owned one other Stingray, but it was a little heavy and sold it too. Over the last several years I have bought 3 Sterling 5s and a Sterling 4, but I always wanted another Stingray 4 sunburst. I know the weights vary from bass to bass, and I got a good one here - 8.5# is light because I know some can get up to 10#. I may send the body down to Marty Bell because he can drop poly fill and buff out the whole body and it really will be like new. None of my basses have dings, so I'm a little nutty about dings, but I'm not rushing to get that fix up done just yet. And - this bass is even better than my other one from 1984 because it has the contoured body and a 3 band 3 EQ!

Working now and yes it is a beauty. Looks just like mine except less dings and scrapes. I agree with bovinehost, just play it!
