too some doing though...this guitar is signature through and through...was made SPECIFICALLY for those lower profile dimarzios....the rio's are deeper and as such, were so friggin' high when initially installed that my tech had to do some minor surgery on the pickup cavities....they're still al ittle too h igh for my liking but nothing that ruins the tone of the guitar, imo..

the texas...not too hot about this one I have to admit..a little too twangy for my tastes..sounds good split though...cool funkiness goin' on..

now, the BBQ on the other hand..sounds amazing...it's smoother than my JB but has similar attack..and the low end is BIG..not boomy, just very full sounding..palm mutes crush with this thing =D and under lower gain you get that EVH type of saggy thing goin' on that we all know and love...i'm even contemplating putting a BBQ in my beloved Lynch!!!

can't recommend the BBQ enough...can't wait to play some drop D stuff tomorrow night at my gig and force people's nervous systems to shut down, thus reducing them to quiviring, drooling vegetables (think peter graves in Airplane! lol)

anywho, I'll probably make some drop D clips sometime this comming week when I have more time...no vids, just sound clips

Cool. I've got some Rio's in one of my Alberts. Solid pickups.
