I guess it paid off to walk in and say: "Do you have any MM guitars?" over the last couple of years.

I went in yesterday afternoon to my local GC and was in MM heaven. I got to play an AL, a Silo, an Axis SS and a used EVH.

I loved the Axis and the EVH, and may have just changed the plan for my next guitar to one of those.

The Axis is Cherry burst with flamed top and maple neck. Holy Sh*t! That thing is so easy to play and sounds great.

I think I figured out the 5 way and loved the versitility.

The Al was very nice. The feel of the silo wasn't my favorite, but it was a very nice instrument. The EVH was the same as the ASS to me, except that I was surprised it was so cheap - $2700 used unfaded purple. Good deal?

I also tried 2 olps for the heck of it - the doubleneck and the Benji copy - very nice for a beginner - a lot better that what I started with for sure.

Personally, I'd never buy a used EVH, when I can get a new Axis cheaper... To me the Axis is simply an EVH with upgrades - oh, and I keep flicking the PU switch by mistake on the EVH. So to me it's Axis (probably SS for me) FTW!!!

Cheers

I guess there's certain models of EVH's that are more desireable than others - I've seen them going for far more that $2700 around the web.

Personally - I loved the Axis SS and may go back and get it - I like new guitars anyway.

My friend Perry has a new Al LE (at least according to his website.)
