Good evening.

I decided to write this little thread posting just before midnight, because I wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to get hit by a car or struck by lightning at work. It's five after eleven, and I am safely at home writing this on my laptop while lying in bed.

I signed onto this forum over three years ago (I believe...) after first playing a Music Man JP6. I was fresh onto the music business scene, having landed my first guitar store job the month prior. We cracked the Mystic Dream guitar out of its case, and I said "I have to play this thing!". I played it. It was upside down. At that point, I knew that I had a mission, a goal, something to work towards. I made it my own personal task to get a left handed JP6 made for me. I didn't care if it had an upside down trem, or no trem... the neck, the body, the layout... it was exactly what I wanted from a humbucker-based guitar. It was officially my dream guitar. Every other guitar was obsolete. I emailed customer service, and got a reply from Dan McPherson, telling me to essentially dream on but in a far more polite and reserved fashion. Believe you me, I DID dream on. Up until today, I dreamed on. Through the numerous annoying emails to Beth suggesting that I would pay uproarious amounts of money to see the left handed JP6 see the light of day, it was a dream of mine.

Jimmy just for that Im going to make left handed JP's. Give us a little time but that was classic.

All of a sudden, I didn't know what to do. I didn't immediately jump on the wagon and post a million times about how excited I was like a certain other left handed forum member... (ahem... LEFTYGUITARBLUE...hahaha, just busting your balls bud!). I was stunned, to tell the truth. Having those two sentences come from such a highly-esteemed fellow like Sterling, I had to pick up my jaw from the floor. I picked up the phone and of all people, called my mother. She's been harassing me since day one of playing guitar to find one I liked and stick with it.

"Mom, you know that guitar I have been bugging the hell out of people for?"
"That Ernie something or other?"
"Yeah. I think it's finally happening..."
"That just proves that you ARE the biggest pain in the ass."

It's now been hanging in the air all day. The grin that goes from ear to ear is finally gone, only to be replaced by a grimace due to a headache... I was smiling THAT much. I didn't think a headache from joy was possible, but it is.

After doing all this lobbying and complaining and whining; I now feel a new task is upon me. I feel it is my personal goal to make sure that these guitars sell. I remember the number well. Only 3% of guitars are made left handed. It is my goal to make sure that these left handed JP6s become the best selling left handed guitar, bar none.

Here's my logic: What guitars are available for left handed people at a reasonable cost that aren't a private stock custom shop piece? What left handed guitar offers the best customer service in the world? What left handed guitar provides twenty four frets and great sounding pickups AND a non-locking tremolo system? This left handed JP6 is officially the best left handed guitar to not be produced yet.

I know I am ridiculously worked up over this. I spent all afternoon private messaging about the potential of this bomb that has been dropped. I have considered that it may be a comment that was just said in the heat of the moment. If that's all it was, at least the fire is stoked. I am craving a JP6LH now, more than ever.

I am enlisting all left handed players to purchase one, at least post for now on here stating that you would take one... hopefully the support while make this almost reality official. To start things off right:

I, Tim, will take TWO JP6LHs when they are available for order. My dedication to the cause is such that I am in the midst of selling all other humbucker guitars to make room for these. I don't care if they have inlays or piezo. I don't care if they made them in the tackiest pink color ever. I want two. If I have a choice in color, a white with matching headstock and a mystic dream shall both be mine.

In closing, it's been a long time coming. I've spent numerous hours posting and reading on this forum, and frequenting the Music Man website. I've had a wah on order for well over a year, and have propositioned Beth numerous times for a job down in SLO. I love this company, this forum and these guitars. I always tell people about the amazing playability, feel and vibe of the Music Man guitars. I deter all purchasers from buying strings other than Slinkys. Call me a fanboy, or whatever you will... Y'all have a permanent unofficial endorsee with me.

Good night.

Hey Look...You had my back and I appreciated your delivery...believe it or not I really do try to do what I can for people....and this seemed like the best thing I could dofor you and the JP lovers out there.

I dont joke with things that are that important and already we are putting the deal together...we ill offer the original jp6 and 7 and the bfr...sorry no piezo though and no baritone as hey are very small sellers in right handed.

Tim Dont buy two right away save your money and you have nothing to prove to any of us at EB.

Just keep being yourself.

Tim,

I don't know man. To me, you just seem a bit non-commital on the whole idea of a left-handed JP. I think you should say what you really feel.

:D

Seriously though, congratulations and really big thanks to Sterling for making this happen.

Wow!!!!!!! Congrats Jimmy. Dreams do come true:D

Nice one Poppa. Making the JP lefty is very cool.

Since this is the place where dreams come true. If I ordered another Axis with Floyd, could I get it in trans purple or trans pink.:D;).........no seriously.

I agree, this is a great place and the reason I bought 3 EBMM in in less than a month. After you try one you are hooked.

geez, where do I start? First of all jimmy, you're an a-hole for throwing me under the bus like that....kidding (or am I?):D
but seriously, I, like jimmy-jengas, have been hoping for this for years! I believe that my first post was me begging to get a JP and trying to get my left handed brothers to support "my cause," people told me not to waste my time, its been covered before, etc. So I conceded and understood why. (production costs, % of left handed market, etc) but as Jimmy said, I would mention it every chance I could. If someone made any comment even close to a lefty Jp, I would jump all over it or if someone asked what your dream guitar would be, I jumped all over it. And it wasn't to be an annoying prick, it was for the desire of wanting one. So, with the thought of a JP never coming to me, and without ever having played one, I bought a Blue Dawn Luke and I've never looked back. I sold off ALL my other guitars to buy it and through suggestions, ordered a silo special, which should be here ANY day, right Dan? Please! Playing my Luke makes me happy everyday and I look forward to my silo and soon, the JP. Now I know that my little ramblings had nothing to do with this decision, or did it? It doesn't matter, I'm just happy as hell right now and look forward to meeting you guys at this years desert bash, and to just shake Sterlings hand.
I can't thank Sterling enough for making this happen. I think this company is the best guitar maker out there with an owner who cares for the people playing the instrument he puts his name on. I couldn't be happier.

Thank you,

Scott in Jersey

I'll let jimmy explain what happened yesterday that made Sterling make that great quote.

I'm ambidextrous.

What's a guy gotta do to get a 180 degree double-neck ?

EDIT : On second thoughts, BP - don't answer that !

:D :D :D
