Hi everyone,
A couple of days ago I picked up my first EBMM guitar, a mint 2011 Silhouette Special, candy red, maple neck & fretboard, HSS with a white pickguard.
I couldn't be happier with it! Feels, plays and sounds 10x better than my old Ibanez, looks gorgeous too. AND a bargain.
It should certainly see me through my music degree, which I'm starting this autumn.

Before I start I'd like to brush up on my versatility: Does anybody on here know any good sites for funk or blues lessons?
I've done quite a bit of searching and I've found the odd PDF lesson here and there, but nothing quite as in-depth as I would like.
If any of you could point me in the right direction here, it'd be much appreciated!

Haha, almost forgot! Heres a photo:

Love this colour in the Silo's. Especially with the maple neck.
Thanks, I'll check out those sites now!
While we're on the subject, are there any funk albums you could recommend? Old and new.
And Glenn, I'm going to be starting at Tech Music School in London next month, should be a good 3 years!

Nice Silo Spec and red is a great color! - you can now join the SSOC Silhouette Special Owners Club in "groups".

Try anything by Herbie Hancock, The Brothers Johnson, James Brown, the Isley Bros, Earth Wind and Fire, Isaac Hayes, etc... and I would also recommend listening to the entire album by Billy Cobham entitled "Spectrum". You might be surprised to learn who played guitar on that album. I know it's more fusion jazz but well worth a listen .. some ideas ...

this song from the album really gets going at 3:05 into the track...

That's a beauty! So many great models in the MM lineup like this, it's hard to say no to any of them, especially a well done HSS like that!! Enjoy!
