So, I finally had the opportunity to play a 25th Anniversary model last night. The only dealer here in Sin City that carries legitimate EBMM stock is Guitar Center , so after waiting for weeks for some new arrivals, this beauty showed up. Darrell was in town so we gave it a quick test drive.
To be honest, when this model was first announced on the forum it really didn’t interest me, I don’t know what it was but for some reason it wasn’t to my liking…until I played one!
This guitar was incredible. Lightweight with amazing quilt, a gorgeous maple fret board speckled with birdseye and that Music Man tremolo. The Venetian Redburst is really something to behold when you see it in person. In the short time we played around we discovered some awesome tones. These custom DiMarzios are amazing and I’m sure all the knuckleheads who already own one have spent countless hours unlocking a variety of killer sounds. I know I’m basically preaching to the fan boy choir here but I am still amazed at how incredible this guitar was to play. It clearly shows the commitment that the entire Ernie Ball Music Man team have made to providing instruments that out perform all others.
Thankfully BP mentioned that this model will continue to be available for some time although in different colors.
….just in case anyone is interested, this GC has quite a nice selection of EBMM models in stock. Probably a dozen or so basses and 7 or 8 guitars including a Candy Red BFR rosewood neck Luke. There is also a Cabernet Pearl Big Al that is stunning along with three different 25th Anniversary basses.
Enough of my fan boy ranting
