Nice looking bass!!!
Does it sound as good as it looks?
BTW, what's with the headstock shape?
Is it just the way it came out in the picture or is it rounded on the top?!?

Can you make out the little sofa behind this bass?

That's part of a set my mother in law had in Peru, some Louis XVI thing with awful red velvet sort of covering. When Erika and I were married, she offered us this set, which Erika hated and said "You must be kidding."

But I saw promise - and the mother in law said she wouldn't mind if I covered it in fake animal skin.

The wife still hates it, of course, but I don't.

OK, guys, I'm starting to get a little concerned about this bass. It's beautiful but the headstock isn't the right shape. I'll get it later today and post the serial number and take a close look at the headstock.

Hope this isn't going to be a product of the D'head doing the repro logos!!!!

I wouldn't have thought so. The bridge, strap buttons and truss rod nut are correct.

Previous owner reshaped it after taking a chunk out of it?

It does look a bit odd compared to the one above, but maybe it was just the photo?

Shoot me a photo of the headstock, Larry.

The headstock looks like this Jay Turser headstock, but the JT trussrod is at the nut. I'd definitely get the serial number to the good folk at EB/MM quickly when this thing arrives.

I took a closer look at the headstock. I knew it was chipped up in that area but I didn't realize that apparently it was damaged and reshaped. You can see that the edge in that area is lighter than the rest of the edge of the headstock, but it does have a clear finish applied over the area. Pretty good job actually. It really doesn't bother me. The bass sounds great. I'll post some better pics of it after the open house.

Yep, it looks fine the way it is.
