Hey everyone, im new to the forums, and I've been enjoying myself looking through all the picture threads and such. I now have a few questions for you guys.

I played an axis in a guitar store and fell in love with how it felt in my hands (im sure many of you are familiar with this experience). however, I think I am interested in the pickup selecting and tone knob the ASS has to offer, and would like to buy one. Is it safe to say that the Axis and ASS feel the same? I read some posts on the slight difference in tone, but that doesnt worry me. Also, do the BFR guitars feel the same?

Since i have fallen into the wonderful world of EBMM guitars, i have been searching both local guitar stores and online retailers for Axis Super Sports. Locally, all i have found is the one axis that I played, but no Super Sports. It seems that they are relatively rare online too, and there isnt a huge selection of colors available to purchase. I checked online at all the stores listed in the premier dealer network. Also, I have seen literally only 1 ASS BFR for sale (and it was used). Is there a good online store that has a better selection, or is my best bet just to order exactly what I want through a local dealer?

Thanks everyone!

All you axis hoarders should share the wealth!! :)

I may have some suggestions to help if I knew where "local" was for you.

I kind of ran into the same situation here in Dallas and had to really search hard like you have been. My search was compounded by the fact that I was in the market for 2 Axis SuperSports. I needed a vintage trem model for me and a hardtail for my wife. The vintage trem model really took some effort to find brother! And though I did just finally aquire them, I really prefer to physically play a guitar before purchasing. I was able to do that with only one. The other one had to be ordered from out of town. It did not disappoint upon arrival, it was perfect!

All the major online dealers have a 30 day return policy but it can be a serious inconveinence to tie up the money for several days and have to deal with shipping it back and waiting for the credit to be applied back.

The extreme high quality of EBMM guitars and the confidence that goes with that sure makes it easier to order one of these sight unseen, unlike many other brands where you have to "hunt" for a good one. The EBMM's are all good!

Good luck to you in your search!

First, congrats on finding your way over to EBMM guitars. Both the Axis and Super Sport are great models. I've tried both. Currently have two Super Sports. Woulda got an Axis, however, I ain't much of a whammy player and I dig having a tone control. Both models can dial in some very sweet and distinct sounds. As for the BFR? I have not had the opportunity to play one .... however, I am sure the range of tones and play-ability is most definitely a good thing.

As for where to find 'em? Where you located?

I know in the west of Toronto, ON area there are a couple in-stock at a couple of locations.

cheers always,

Joel

Thanks for the replies. I am in Louisville KY, but i am frequently in Lexington KY and will be going near Knoxville TN soon. The Axis that I played was at Willcutt guitars in Lexington, which is a fantastic shop by the way.

Yep, mine is incredible. The reason I'm returning it is because I acquired my 25th first. I got so used to the neck that it ruined me. While the Axis ss neck is phenomenal, it's just not what I'm used to. Also, I just bought a rare Purple Reflex from Brown Dog. I can't wait for it to arrive.

I found my Axis by writing to the Ernie Ball Music Man customer service and asked them if they could send me a list of all national dealers that received a particular color. Got a list of 5 dealers, I contacted all of them, got pictures back from 3 of them, and fell in love with one. Got it in, and perfect. I recommend going the same route ;).

Customer Service is super-nice and quick. Here's what they have to take the blame for after my email ;):

If you're interested in used, you can look through the for sale section or post a wtb in the wanted section. I mentioned in a post that I was looking for an Axis and a forum member one town from me sent me pictures of his Axis for sale. I went, I looked, I bought it. That's a good reason to put your location in your profile.
