I've never had a blister, but I did have a split index finger (think massive paper cut) on my plucking hand at my last gig starting in the second set of the first night of a two night stint. I ended up just trying to play as lightly as possible the first night, but it was sore. The next day before the gig, I cleaned it up and applied a couple of layers of Krazy Glue. It felt a little weird but worked like a charm. It lasted until the last song.
