Does anybody recommend anything other than a soft cloth to get the fingerprints off of the body? I love the look of the black body, but like a car, it's hard to keep clean. Especially after that bucket of chicken!

I know: black car, black motorcycle, black Sterling. I may try using a product called Plexus on my Sterling. It works great on my bike & car, resists dust/static & fingerprints. It used to be an aerospace product - I'll let you know how it works.

Many motorcycle shops carry the stuff; you'll probably find a .com store if you do a search for Plexus cleaner.

Most furniture polishes have wax and other stuff in them that you may not want on your instrument.

Get some Martin guitar polish or some EB Guitar Polish (heh heh) and call it a day.

If you want to learn, there are a lot of long-time players around here with a lot of insight into the instrument.

No one insinuated or implied that you were stupid; I was simply trying to help you not damage your bass.

mmmkay?

Also, I have superpowers. Like for example, I can understand the language of squirrels and I can see through typing paper (if the sun is behind it).

My real opinion on this is - use a soft cloth. Under duress, I will also occasionally use either Martin Guitar Polish or the EB Polish. My theory is that the fewer chemicals that I slap on the finish, the happier the finish will be.

That is my real opinion, forget the squirrel stuff, I was led astray.
