Hey everyone! I'm considering getting a new JP6 BFR and I really wanna make sure I get one that looks good to me. I've looked at pictures online of many of the different finishes and there is so much variation from guitar to guitar. For example, with the Bahama Blue Burst, I've seen pictures with wide bursts and thin bursts of black on the edges, and some with no burst. There are some that are more of a teal color and some that are more of a plain blue color. Some are flame maple while others are quilted maple. With the koa top, there are some with a dark burst around the edges, some with a sort of transparent burst, and some with barely any burst at all.

Why is there so much variation among guitars of the "same" finish? Is there any way/place to order my guitar to ensure that it will look the way I want it?

I think the bursts have been pretty consistent. Some like the Koa models have changed finishes over the years. Different wood will react slightly different as well. I believe the guitars are shot by hand so you are going to have slight variations.

Is there any way/place I can order it to make sure I get one that I will like? It's going to be many years before I get the opportunity to buy such an expensive guitar again so I want to be absolutely sure that I buy the right guitar.
