i dont think he ever used it live or to record. he probably just used it in the higher ground and taste the pain videos because they looked cool.

he was playing MM's before the mothers milk album.

Oooh mr know it all eh ???
I sure do know a 399$ (or something in that area) bass
couldnt sound as good as a Stingray,Spector,or Modulus bass wich he used/uses
I sure do know he used Stingray's before that one...
Just was surprised to see one, and that it was such a cheap bass

Rock On!

I've always wanted a closer look at these basses. I only saw 'em on the Higher Ground video, where it had a funky finish. Interesting...

There is a human being named Flea?

Will wonders never cease?

They ought to see about getting this guy on one or two Bass Player Magazine covers.

Yeah I know this thread is old as dirt. But the more recent thread about Flea was closed for some reason. Anyhow, didn't know if you are kidding or not about not seeing flea doing a cover of BP mag..but here are 2...one from 92...one from 06, not sure if he did any others.

Hope I am not opening a can of worms here..it's not my intent at all. I don't know if the 92 cover is an MM SR, but in 92 I can't imagine it not being one ..hard to tell from the pic..but the 06 is definatly a Jazz.

The Modulus Bass that Flea used was originally called a Sonic hammer then it became the "Flea" bass. I had one many many moons ago, it was a nice bass, but IMO the Bongo is a far superior bass.
