I posted a couple of weeks ago about putting 010's on my newly purchased Luke and thought a few of you would like to know how my first gig went with it.
Important info to start. I have only ever played Gibsons, first a les Paul then a les Paul double cutaway and after fitting a bareknuckle pickup in the bridge I was very happy with the dc. I can tell you that after today's gig I'll be getting rid of both gibsons. I've never had more fun playing a guitar than I did tonight.
The guitar stayed in tune all night despite me leaning pretty hard on the trem bar at times. It went from meaty and raw to subtle and warm. It's a strange feeling to describe but I felt encouraged to push myself harder and when I did the Luke just kept singing. The neck is so nice and feels so wonderfully natural to play and those EMG's are amazing.
I didn't get the luke to sound like lukather I got it cause I love the clean tones of a strat but the brut force of a les Paul driven hard and now I have the perfect compromise. Needless to say I'm a very happy Luke owner and if anyone is looking at this forum wondering if its worth buying one then I can safely say it is!!
