this past friday, i picked up a nice bongo, you can see some pics of it in the 'i like bongos' thread.
tonight we had band practice, so i was super excited to see how well the bongo fit in with our sound. my bandmates really liked everything about it, i loved playing it, and it sounded fantastic!
we record our practices, so i got to hear it in action on the drive home. it is AWESOME. i have never sounded so good before! when i got it, i set my amp's EQ to flat, i usually boost the mids just a smidge. i figured that with the amp EQ flat, i could play with the bongo's EQ without any coloration from anything else... WOW am i impressed! i really could squeeze any tone i wanted out of the bass. my guitar player was outside of the practice studio when i plugged it in, and the drummer and i were just jamming around a little bit. he walked in to the room, and when we were done told me it was the best i have ever sounded.
i know i'm preaching to the choir here, but this is my first EBMM bass, and i couldn't be more pleased with it.
we're going in to the studio to record an EP march 8th, and you better believe the only bass i am bringing with me is my new bongo. i am in love!
this is a fantastic community you have here, and i am thrilled to be a part of it!
