Well after 8 days, I am still walking around with a big grin on my face just thinking about my new SR5. (lefty Trans orange, black pearl guard, rosewood board). I had thought that the parallel setting sounded really thin and tinny at first but after posting a question about the different settings and messing around a bit, I have come to realize that the parallel setting is actually my favorite setting. Thanks for all the replies by the way, it helped a lot.

I have discovered that running the bass up a bit from center, the mids full and the treble flat (center detent) that the sound is "the sound"! I am so happy I cant stand it! The sound is amazing! Most of you here are surely well aware of how good the SR5 sounds, but I just wanted to share with everyone how rediculously good this bass sounds to me after jonesing for one for so many years.

I did drop the action a tad and am messing a bit with my B-Max settings, but this bass is my personal "Holy Grail".

Now If I could just learn to slap properly! haha

You have your SR5's EQ pretty close to mine. Bass slightly up from center. Mids maxes. But I have my treble almost completely cut.

Glad you're liking it. I know I had that same grin on my face when I got mine. :D

Hey bud, it was actually your post that got me to try that eq setting. I also checked out that video of you slappin. That was a really cool clip. Thanks for the advice. You have some great slap technique going on.
