Fixing a Chip?

I'm not usually too fussy about chips/dings/scratches but the other day my strap, with Dunlop lock's on it, swung the wrong way while putting it on, and it whacked my Axis right on the top. It took out an almost perfect circular chip.

Ordinarily I'd do nothing about it. However, I actually found the paint chip, and its almost a perfect fit back into the finish. Any suggestions as to how I'd go about putting that chip back in, permanently. I don't have 100% of it, there's a small part missing.

I was thinking superglue...?

I have repaired that exact sort of chip with super glue. Be careful and use the smallest amount possible. Otherwise when you press the paint chip in, super glue will squeeze out and up and look bad.

take a picture of the before and after so we can see the repair. I have a tiny "ding" on the back of one of my guitars and have wondered what the repair options might be.

I would apply the superglue with a pinhead. Even that would probably be too much.

i would use white glue......
it's strong enough to do the job , it dries slow so u have time to set the chip in place just right , & after it dries u can clean up the excess easily.
it's too easy to screw up w/ crazy glue. that stuff is.....well.......crazy !!!!!

I'm gonna see about gluing it back in this week. So, regular white glue might be good enough? That does sound a little more appealing, I might do that. I wish I could've found the entire piece, I'm missing a little tiny bit. Oh well.
