Mark is hardly a girly man when it comes to strings. (I might be.)

Those Rotos are difficult strings, though - really. I put a set on a friend's Jazz and was really never able to get the relief like it should have been.

I'd never put them on one of my Music Man basses.

They are really high tension strings but I dig that. Some people talk about those TI flats and I hated how low-tension they were. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Most of my basses have D'Acme flats, so I generally prefer a little tension on my flats, but as Jack suggests, the Roto Harris set are right off the scale.

The LaBellas are extremely old school flats and I've owned 3 or 4 sets; they worked well on a Jazz bass but not so well on my active basses. I don't know why that should be, but that was my take on it.

(I didn't think they lacked mids, though. Odd how different ears capture things.)

Big vote here for the EB Group II Flats, although they're not for girly men.
