heh, after getting my hopes up for about a year to purchase a flea bass 5 string, i finally got to play one.

i would take an SR5 or a bongo in a heart beat!

it couldnt even touch the SR5 tone!!!

SR5 kills it on price, tonality and feel. EBMM sure is a great company.

I've seen one... I picked one up... I put it back down and kept right on walking without looking back...

Never forget - there is a huge difference between "cost" and "value"... ;)

Those basses scare me. What the hell kind of deal did they offer Flea???? What happened between he and EB? I love Flea (in a totally heterosexual way of course) but I really dislike his bass. Wuts up with that?

I had one. I thought it was great. The neck was fantastic and stayed in tune like nothing else. It was a difficult to record and heavy, thats my only complaint. I only sold it because, at the time, I felt like a tool playing such an expensive instrument and not really having the skills to back it up...oh, and I made a profit on the sale:)

Modulus makes absolutely top of the line instruments, but that doesn't make them better than MM, just different.

I owned a Quantum 4 spi a gazillion years ago. Great bass, but I wouldn't trade my 'Ray for one!
