Flea and MM

I'd so much rather watch someone go nuts and mess up like crazy

I let you know when my band will be playing in NYC :D

Flea impressed me many years ago when they played @ Roseland.
(2) relatively unknown bands @ the time warmed up the show . . .
Smashing Pumpkins & Pearl Jam (was a GREAT SHOW - one of my favs)

I don't see how anyone can listen to either Blood Sugar Sex Magic or Mother's Milk and not hear a Stingray.....

I'm not a total "go wild on stage" guy, BUT I totally agree with the spirit of what Joe says

You could say "play what you're playing with commitment and freedom, and if you're not sure, go for it anyway -- a bad note played with heart is better than a feeble note!

"I don't see how anyone can listen to either Blood Sugar Sex Magic or Mother's Milk..."

See, I would have stopped right there.

Yes, and monkeys were going to fly out of my butt.

Seriously, you can still give it to me.

BTW, I have nothing at all against Flea (okay, perhaps the overexposure but that's not his fault). It's that Anthony guy, the singer.

I want to see him and Geddy in a Singer Death Match.

But hey! It's Friday! I get to play bass for cowpilot and drink vodka tonight!

I woke up this morning a little "tired" and thought, " I am not drinking tonight". That thought ended after my first cup of coffee.

So what time is Jack allowed to have his first drink of the day? Mine will be at around 5:04 at the "Concert in the Plaza".

I like to wait until later when we're rehearsing because otherwise we end up playing C&W versions of "Whole Lotta Love" and Pink Floyd songs and so on because it's funnier than actually working on a real song.

We did have a really odd conjunto/waltz version of "Knock Three Times" going a while back, though.

Um, so anyway, yeah, later, like 9 or so.

Anybody remember RHCP's on SNL waaay back in the Mothers Milk day? They played a fast funk/punk song and Flea just pounded that bass so hard I thought he was gonna break it in two!

A tad off topic but.....
To me, the true Flea bass will always be that Black rosewood SR4 :D , which might be my first stingray :D

If you guys heard, All Around the World - RHCP, the Modulus sounded kinda glassy and thin. I dont see any reason why he'd prefer that bass over his good ol' SR4, but maybe like someone said its the contract. I saw him live in Singapore years back, and did not see him use a Single SR4, only Moduluses.

I play a SR in that exact configuration, mainly cos of Flea and also cos I like black.

Perhaps BP could get Flea to hang a Ray around his neck again....or a Bongo?
