Somewhere, I have photos of me playing a Modulus Flea I owned in 2002.

Steve might remember. I had that thing for about twenty minutes.

The story I've heard is that Modulus offered him $ to play theirs.

I really don't like to talk about other people's business decisions, especially when Flea has done good things with his money like his Music Conservatory which gives free music lessons to underprivileged kids. But I sure hope Flea comes back to MusicMans. I love Flea. I love Music Mans. I love Flea's sound when he plays the MusicMans. He's the reason I bought one. I heard them and said "whoa!!! what is that bass!!?" Those other basses he gets paid to play are nice, but are so damn overpriced it's ridiculous.

He's started using his Modulus basses on tour again. Right now he is playing a sunburst one, and I'm sorta glad he is because I couldn't really hear him in the mix with that Jazz bass.

Yes he has. And thank gawd he stopped using that Jazz cause I couldn't hear him at all. And I get cranky when I can't hear my Flea when the Chili's play! :)

OT - is just me or have the chilli's been average since one hot minute (no slur on flea though he always pulls out nice chops... regardless of the rest of the band)

I think Californication was awesome, I was very dissappointed with By The Way, and I think Stadium Arcadium is very nice and huge breath of fresh air. Different strokes for different folks I guess...my favorites by them are the Freaky Styley and BSSM.

One Hot Minute is actually my least favorite Chili Peppers album...the only songs I really like are Aeroplane and Coffee Shop....

Yeah, it's all about personal preferences ya know? Whatever taste you enjoy. It is offtopic, but I'll chime in...

OHM's my least fave as well. It's the Navarro factor. He's a fantastic guitarist and I adore Jane's Addiction, but Navarro doesn't like and (therefore can't) funk. The chemistry wasn't there.

Californication was so great because John came back. John Frusciante is the Peppers. He shapes the Peppers sound. I love what he does with the vocal harmonies and all the melodies. While I always love the funk I enjoy the melodic side of the Peppers as well. I like to hear the melodic lines Flea comes up with. BloodSugarSexMagik will always be my fave but it's one dimensional compared to Stadium Arcadium which is their best effort ever. It's expansive in it's sounds.

Speaking of YouTube clips, here is one that I admire...Although I don't really care for the song this Ray just sounds awesome in the beginning...

Yeah man!!! NOW we're back on topic...That's the Ray sound that hooked me to MusicMans. I still have this video on VHS. Course now I have to get it in DVD...lol

Bssm is my fav cd but it is one dimensional. I love the new one. It has a lot of throwbacks to their older stuff.

I like him. He has a unique style. Ever have someone try to cover keidis? Now you may come back with something liek 'yeah, i know its hard to cover crap" but he does what he does, and I dig it.

they wouldn't be the same with out him. but yeah he just grates on me. each to their own I guess.

He's improved a lot. Listen to the new cd.

I've been at shows in the past where his vocals were so off I was hoping his mic would cut off. :D That was a while back though. Remember he came on as a joke when he joined his buds onstage to rap one night. They weren't the Peppers until then. It was his idea to start singing later on and well...his voice had to catch up to his idea. lol But he has improved heaps.
