hey, i was just listening to stadium arcadium and thought that thre were a number of tracks in which the bass sounded like a musicman. i thought they were

charlie
torture me
especially in michigan
warlocks
c'mon girl
21st century
readymade
so much i

if you have the album just give these tracks a listen and tell me what you think, but to me they definetly have that musicman oomph to the bass which is lacking in some of the other tracks where im guessing the fender jazz is used. there may be no musicmmen on this album, it could be his modulus, but yeh, these ones just caught my attention.

I think flea playing the fenders just didnt make sense in my book. If he recorded the new album with em, thats fine, but live performances would be a little weird for me. I am hopefully seeing them in october, so we'll see what he is playing. I am just used to Flea rocking the one pickup basses :). Part of the reason I fell in love with black/black is because of his black/black/rosewood sr4.

+1 on the black/black/rosewood, dude.

I saw them last week, he used the sunburst modulus and it cut through just dandy - not sure the jazz would have.

On the FOH guy front, perhaps he just got used to the modulus. Flea has the endorsement too, so perhaps Modulus had a word......?

It was about money. Strong rumor says he used Sting rays on some tracks on the new record.

Time to make an MM 'Flearay' bass BP, c'mon!

Mmm I saw that... then he shows his wall of basses and talks about every single bass BAR the EBMM on his wall...

Sounded great considering it was unplugged - that's one of the big attractions of an MM for me - an electric that kicks butt acoustically as well...

Got any links?

Somewhere, I have photos of me playing a Modulus Flea I owned in 2002.

Steve might remember. I had that thing for about twenty minutes.
