This is not a "real" ebmm case so you cant be sure but seems like it will. At least thats what it sais... if it where up to me i would search for a real mm case. Most stores sell these and they fit both 4 and 5 string basses.

looks like it would be close to the same weight as a MM case, if you want to save weight, get a gigbag

Yep. Think that too.... mm cases arent even that heavy in my opinion and the best option for touring or traveling

The case pictured/linked in the OP is
not an actual flight case. It may be a
fine case [or not], but thaz definitely
not a flight case, not according to the
hardware on it as pictured in the link.

Not sure what kinda traveling you're
anticipating, but thaz not the type of
hardware intended to prevent snags
in automated baggage handling.

Google "ATA approved guitar case",
"TSA latches" etc etc.

Well @Golem,if your message is for me...I said previously that i allready have an MM original case, for traveling with it in planes or band van...That means a long trip...I'm looking for something hard but not too heavy, something to be comfortable to carry when i walk or in a bus or in subway...Not a soft gigbag because i had bad experience with this kind of stuff...The shape of this case(i agrred with you when you said is not for flight) is perfect to carry with my own hand...Anyway,i made my mind and i'l buy one...If it is not ok i will sale it to a friend of mine wich owns an Fender...If it is ok or not i'll see next week...Keep in touch for further informations...Thanks all.

Please tell us about the Ashton aluminum case. The case in the linked
advert specifies ABS [plastic] construction. I have a coupla aluminum
cases myself, but they are not especially light weight. Ashton is light ?
Would really like to hear more about it :)

I did not put my older case on a scale but i did it with this new one...The weight(only the case) is 4 kilos(around 9 lbs)(with an sansamp and an korg pitchblack inside)...With the instrument inside is 8.5 kilos(around 19 lbs)...I don't know if the scale is accurate(it was build to make my wife happy...:) ) After all my hand tells me that the difference is at least 3 kilos(arround 6.5 lbs)...Here is a photo...
