Hello

Last Wednesday, I had the honor to see Flying Colors in Paris. They played in an old theater (Le Trianon).
The show was absolutely fabulous. Perhaps the best concert I have ever seen.
The sound was absolutely perfect : the perfect volume, the perfect mix ... hats off to the sound engineer. A very nice vibe on stage but also in the public (I met some nice people).

The musicians were amazing. Steve Morse was of course wearing a sleeveless shirt ... where it was written "Aviation Addict"
Steve played all the show with his number One (there was also a Y2D on stage, but he did not use it. I think it was just in case if he broke a string). Of course, his amps were 2 ENGL Steve Morse amps (and two 4x12 cab).
Dave LaRue is amazing. When he plays, bass seems so easy to play.
Casey McPherson is a great singer. He played on a Gibson and also acoustic guitar (he was also using an ENGL Steve Morse head : a gift from Steve ???).
Mike Portnoy was in great shape : very funny and an amazing player (he didn't "overplay" but really played for the songs).
Neal Morse was for me "the new guy" : I didn't know very well his career. He's a great keyboardist but also a great singer.

They played all the Flying Colors album and some other songs from each player. They played Odyssey ... I am a total Dixie Dregs addict thus I have to change my underwear ...

Now some pictures :

But one guy absolutely stole the show :eek: (and he is not on the photo above).

This guy is :

our own Tommy (tommyindelaware) :

I had the privilege to speak with Tommy after the show (it was very kind because as you can imagine he was working : he was doing the guitar tech for Steve, Dave and Casey). It's always nice to chat with the guys you met on this forum !

Great show ... perfect night :)

Note to morse fans...the first pic looks like it captured the one moment of one song i can ever remember steve pulling vocal duty! I cant remember which song from the show that was so if anyone does please post. Glad they got the sound mix worked out. This is really a great band. Hoping for some namm shows possibly. Steve? Tommy?

Steve sang on Love Is What I'm Waiting For.
The only guy in the band who never sang was Dave !
The sound was really perfect I think for two reasons :
1. We are at the end of the tour thus now the sound guy knows perfectly the band and the songs.
2. Le Trianon is an old theater from the 19th century. The acoustic of the room is great.
