Do you ever just cringe when you see someone's name in the For Sale section. So I look up top and see 'bdgotoh' as the latest post - oh, great (I says to self). And of course, its an amazing DDI Bongo 4 HS - YOU ARE KILLING ME BRAD!

The Radiant Red Bongo 4 HS is amazing and I'm sure this one is too - how do I scheme................

Evil Brad (but a great guy with great gear).

Jim (weak Jim)

Cheers!

If you're someone who mostly plays fours you would be crazy not to get that DD1 four banger that bdgotoh has put up. I don't care how much it weighs, hang it on the wall and marvel at the beauty and exclusivity of this thrilling first run Dargie while you play your other MM's. If I sound like a Dargie fanboy I will gladly confess and say- get that damn bass before bdgotoh changes his mind. :D

That's an awesome looking bongo, but I couldn't help laughing when I saw the weight, 9.1 pounds being to heavy? My stingray weighs in at 13.7 pounds . By far the heaviest bass I've ever held, I had to get a 3" strap to help with the weight load, and it still lets you know it's there lol.

Most people don't get it but that's ok. My HH Bongo is 8.1 lbs, my H Bongo is 8.3 lbs - it makes a difference in how they feel and sound.

Light Stingrays are great too, my HH is 8.6 lbs. When I played single H Rays my fave was a 7.9 lb 2 band.

Well when you've played Fender Basses from the time I was 8 years old and my first Bass was a 62 Sunburst P Bass weighing in at 8.1 pounds and it sounded killer, so all I buy now is light Ernie Balls, and l'll tell ya they just kick ass Period. Not saying every EB Bass i got that was light was killer but I can afford to keep buying them til I find the killer ones that are light. So the lighter the better. I save the 10 Plus pounders for my good Buddy Kirby, he's in much better shape then me so he can bench press the heavier ones, lol.

If this was a fiver I would have already pulled the trigger. I miss the Dargie 1's I had very badly, but they were casualties of my switch to 5'ers.

So:

1) If you have a Dargie 1 fiver... PM me (please!).

2) If you play four bangers... buy this NOW!

I know boss - was just trying to be pithy, and failing. It is much easier to go through the for sales without comments - agreed!

I'm just happy to have a Bongo back in the house (and maybe another?).

Cheers,
JIM

Lorino The comments are off because when it was on it was horrible trying to wade through and mostly really stupid comments!

My god, 13.7 lbs would kill me after 30 minutes. My Stingray 5-H weighs in at 8.6 lbs. Are you sure your weigh scale is accurate? 13.7 lbs is huge!

TD
Very sure, I used an electronic scale that is used to measure refrigerant tanks. My other bass weighed in at 7.7 pounds. It's heavy, but I actually like it that way.
