I forgot that the song will be on the Christian Metal Realm compilation cd, "The Narrow Path." Artie is taking preorders now, so I'm assuming that the mastering is done. I'm excited to hear what the mastered version sounds like... I've never had a song of mine professionally mastered before. :)

did you post something about your song? I'm sure it's just as good as the Vai song... I showed another friend of mine the video last night and he was pretty pissed at the crowd... he couldn't understand why they weren't screaming ONLY if it were 30 or so people... MAKE SOME NOISE! and REPSECT WHAT WAS JUST DONE!

Yeah, Jon asked me if I had some original music to share... I linked to our myspace page.

We're a heavy prog band, but the instrumental sections I tend to write probably have more in common with later Fates Warning than Dream Theater...although one we are working on now has some more intricate work in it.

All my post didn't show up... lol

I had typed something about telling the peeps that were there that everyone says they were a sucky audience. LOL

I've never really written a guitarstrumental (lol) so to do things like that at school for required performance, it pretty much leaves me at doing covers. But, part of the deal is performing something established and professional, so I dodn't know that they'd want me to perform my music soley or not...

Last semester I did "Tears In The Rain" by Satch. I decided to bring the tone down a notch. This semester I'm leaning towards "Crying" by satch because it's nice and emotive. I'm just trying to keep things a little mixed up style wise. My friend that videod it has moved though, so I don't know if I'll be able to vid it or not. I'll probably use my flextone III this time because I think it has a fatter sound for bluesy stuff (the Vamp does do the Vai sound better though), and I still won't have much time to really deal with micing the Boogie.

Oh, and thanks Jon. I didn't know if you had seen it yet with the weekend and all.... I went to my Grandmother's funeral today so I've been a bit down the last few days. I didn't think to even make sure the link actually posted until today.

Thanks so much guys... I appreciate it. She was my Great Grandmother, and it was hard to watch, for the first time ever, my Dad cry. Me crying is one thing, my Dad.... That made it worse.

At the same time, it was nice seeing some family for the first time in forever, and talking about memories etc. Just lots of great memories of Grandma Lee, so that's a great thing.

I'm not sure on the not playing thing... myspace is a bit unstable at times unfortunately. I litterally alternate between IE and Firefox because it will work on one this time, and the other the next time. lol

I'm having trouble playing it too - shame that!

If you open a photobucket account (it's free) you can upload video to the account and you could post the link here - just a thought.

Sorry to hear about your Grandma.

Why not write a guitar piece to remember her by and play it at this semesters show?
