Hey Now,

Just wondering if the mahogany tone block affected the overall weight of the guitar.

Well Pug it was the most sublime tone that you will ever hear!

Ergonomically it felt perfect and the flame in the top just caught the lights.......

oh shoot why did I have to wake up from my dream!!!:D

I didn't get to play it plugged in, but I didn't notice any difference whatsoever in weight of the guitar.

Mahogany isn't that much heavier than the rest of the wood in a standard Al. You are talking about such a small piece of wood, the difference is probably only a few ounces at best. If even that.

Kind of a moot point, really. ;)

Thanks Jeffrey,

I just wanted to double check because I know that some mahogany guitars are like strapping on Buick:D

Even though it's just a small, yet key, component to the added overall tone of these EBMM beauties I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

How did the flame top look in person?

Pug, it was really a sweet guitar...

I didn't get to play it plugged in but there was a 17 year old girl, (Keith has her info) who got up on stage Friday and played it and sang a great song with the band.

True, a whole body would make a BIG difference. :)

But I believe the block is only from the neck to the bridge and not much wider than the pickups.

I'm not sure it's enough to even be noticeable weight-wise. :)

I don't find my Mahog Tele to weigh that much but then again I was used to a Les Paul that did weigh a lot!!

I'll try and weigh it tonight
