What do you use the six string bass for? I'm thinking of getting either a five string or a six string, either fretless or fretted (I know I'm indecisive, haha) and I mostly play metal and rock...I like soloing a lot on bass, but I'm not sure I can justify the sixth string. I love the feel of fretless, but I like slapping as well.

Lol you guys wanna help me out?

Don't slap your bass...it's just plain cruel.
I use the 6th string on mine for fishing and hanging laundry to dry.

The honest answer, having that many options available (note and position choices) is fantastic.

I personally cannot justify one. I tried the 6 string bongo...the board was just too wide for my small hands. Plus, I have enough problems with a 4 and 5 string as it is....no sense in complicating matters for me anymore! :D

Get the 6 if you are comfortable with one. If you like to do a lot of soloing, I guess, more tonal options are better.

In an ideal world I'd have one of every kind of Bongo, but at this point I can only get one.
